Children ages 5-11 are invited to come enter the annual Bike Challenge & Bike Safety Rodeo at Lake Wilderness Park on Saturday, June 24. Maple Valley Parks & Recreation and Maple Valley Police Department are bringing this summer kick off event to brush up on bike safety skills and test your riding abilities on a timed route through the Park. Top riders in each age division and each gender will be awarded ribbons! Arrive early at Picnic Shelter #2 to practice on the warm-up track provided by Bike Masters. Raffle prizes will be drawn for cool prizes for all who participate in the challenge and rodeo. The challenge race officially begins at 10:00am.
The Maple Valley Police Department will offer a Bike Safety Rodeo course for kids or adults to either brush up or learn the proper safety signals and bicycle road etiquette to kick off safe riding for the summer. Each rider will be provided with a certificate of completion. Please click here for more information about the Bike Safety Rodeo.
