Maple Valley City Council votes to support Tahoma School District ballot measure

Maple Valley, WA – April 11, 2018 – The City of Maple Valley City Council moved at its April 9 regular business meeting in favor of supporting the Tahoma School District’s ballot measure. Deputy Mayor Dana Parnello presided over the meeting and the motion was carried unanimously, 5-0.

Passage of the measure would replace an expiring levy and allow the levy of $10,710,073 in property taxes within the Tahoma School District for collection in 2019, and the levy of $11,823,067 for collection in 2020. The levy will be used to support educational programs and operations not funded by the state.

Voters will be asked to consider the measure on the April 2018 special election ballot. The April special election deadline is April 24.
